British Voiceovers by Emma Thurston & Colin Day | Voiceover UK

We are full-time voiceovers with more than 30 years combined experience. It’s what we do – all day, every day – so you won’t struggle to reach us.
We’re happy to attend the studio of your choice, but most of our v/o work is recorded and edited in our own broadcast quality studio. There’s no extra charge – it’s included in your voice fee.
“We listen to you and we get things done.”
We often get a brief by mail or phone and we self-direct. We can also hook up to you for sessions by ISDN, Source Connect, Skype or plain old telephone. Send us a rough edit or your final cut if it would be helpful. We can synch to picture if you need.
Many clients like to team us up for tricky two-handers. Being real life husband and wife makes for good chemistry and no painful editing for you.
Your pictures are in HD – shouldn’t your voiceover be too?
We think so. It’s one reason we’re completely nuts about sound quality.
Please don’t tell us “it’s only a voiceover”. Capturing the subtle nuances and textures of the spoken word is a big ask. Some say the toughest challenge in the craft of sound recording. Are we there yet? You’ll have to judge, but our work is aired every day on major networks worldwide.
You might guess that we can’t afford to use cheap equipment – it won’t get the job done. So our philosophy is “the best or nothing”. We’ve invested heavily to bring you sound quality that compares to some of the best v/o studios worldwide. In fact, we reckon to have spent more on cables than many project studios cost in total.
And we’re not standing still.
In 2014 we are building two new rooms. The extra space will be welcome, but we also hope to improve our workflow and take our sound quality to an even higher level. Follow the build in Colin’s Blog.
If you have any technical questions, please be in touch. Just know you’re in very geeky hands.
